Glen Garioch Distillery – A Highland Heritage

Founded: 1797

Glen Garioch Distillery  is one of Scotland’s oldest operating whisky distilleries, founded in 1797 by John Manson in the village of Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire. Situated in the fertile “Granary of Aberdeenshire,” the distillery benefits from prime barley-growing conditions and a unique water source known as the Silent Spring.

Positioned in the eastern Highlands, the distillery sits at the gateway to Speyside but retains its unmistakably bold Highland identity. Its unique location amidst Scotland’s barley heartlands, the fertile lands known as the “Granary of Aberdeenshire”, provides the perfect backdrop for crafting whisky that is rich, robust, and full of spirit.
